My daughter can't see up close but can far away, which is that? I also how does wearing a stronger prescription help young children correct their vision?

The way you remember this is think about the terms in reverse. So, near sighted means that a person can't see far, and far sighted means that a person can't see near.

You've already gotten the definitions of the terms: Near-sightededness is myopia and far-sightedness is hyperopia. Your daughter is hyperopic. Her eyeball is too short and the point of focus falls behind the retina. When she backs away the point of focus is on the retina where it belongs. The stronger prescription will alter the point of focus so that it falls on the retina.

Just remember what they see is the name of it. If they can see near (but not far) she's nearsighted.

near sighted----------can not see far away...........far sighted ---can not see up close..
