I don't necessarily hate them, but I think someones skills could be put to better use for example a medic or engineer.

Well what does an art degree really do for you? Art is so much the taste of the week by people who have no taste. If some "person" in New York likes an artist or whatever then it's a hit. You don't need a degree to be a follower.

I don't care if a person has a degree or not, if they can draw I hate them. My son has absolutely no formal art training and he leaves more artistic ability on the floor of the barber shop than I have ever had or ever will have. Should have strangled that kid when he was still smaller than I am.
Seriously, we work together very well, I design it and he draws it. We split the money. HeII it pays for the beer we drink.
But I really do envy people who can draw well.

I don't hate them, I am one!
I used my arts degree in english and history as a stepping stone to take a higher degree- education.
Here, to take many higher degrees you first need a first degree, and most people choose Arts because it is most closely related to the professional field they will eventually be in.

Hate them? No. Question their common sense? Yes, very much, in that their degree, much like one in let's say, Poly Sci, might as well be written on Charmin. You spend four years working hard, and of what use will the degree be to you? How will it make you money?
