This type of question has probably been asked before but I've been semi-casually dating a guy for a few months now, it will be about 5 and a half months by Christmas. I was wondering if dating etiquette says we should give a gift or not...I just don't want to not give a gift and find out he's bought me something...and yes, I know it would be easier to just ask him but I'm hoping that can be a last resort.
Also, if yes, any ideas on an appropriate gift would be very helpful.

Depends on what your guy is like. You can just go out and buy a DVD or 2 and give him that for Christmas. Its not too expensive or anything. Make it a movie both of y'all like so you can watch it together.

PfcsBaby has a good idea....let me add a couple more ideas: maybe a CD that he has his eye on or a book he may be interested in reading. And it shouldn't matter whether or not he gives you a gift, you should want to give one because you "want" to. Hope this gives you more ideas to go on.
