Not to sound like a downer, but not everyone is destined to have someone... consider this: some people have done more good by not having a romantic relationship, other people don't want anyone (a-sexual people) and therefore, it's not reasonable to say that there is someone for everyone...
However, even following the belief that there is... your soulmate, if your soulmate is gay, that doesn't mean that you'll have to be alone forever, but it may mean that you'll have to be close close friends with your soulmate, and romantic partners with someone else you love that you find... after all, if there is someone for everyone, who could say there isn't more than one person available for everyone (in case something happens to the primary one)?
Still, I don't think there is someone for everyone.
I hope this helps...
Please don't worry about being alone forever... I know that fear, but it doesn't help anyone do anything, so it's useless to dwell on it.
Aloha,
Dave

Hi! Well, first of all, God has prepared the perfect person for everyone, so do not worry, he will come. Also, if he is gay, he is probably not your soulmate. God won't put someone for you that is impossible to reach, and, you might just really like him as a friend and have your feelings confused. For example, a while ago I thought I really liked someone, but then I noticed I just loved them a lot as a friend, and I knew he wasn't the guy for me. Don't worry, you will find someone perfect for you before you even notice!!

As it turns out, the closest thing I have to a soulmate is gay. But I don't want a man, he doesn't want a man, and we have too much fun together to even think about dating.

I don't belive that there is just one person out there for each of us our "soul mate" I mean think of how many people are out there. If there is such a thing what are the chances that they will live anywhere near you, or that you will ever cross paths? I think that there are of course people that we are compatible with and those that we are not but I do not believe there is just ONE. don't give up you'll find love.

If you believe in soul-mates then you must believe there is a higher power that decides our fate for us. If so then this Gay soul-mate isn't really your soul-mate, otherwise you would be together. Don't confuse love with infactuation. You can still deeply love your friends and not be intamite. kinda like Family... i hope

If he's gay and you're not, I doubt he would be your soulmate.

That phrase doesn't implies there's only one person for each person. It just means don't worry, you'll find someone.
