Why say Islam is a violent religion. Mohammed didn't preach violent. He preach to be considerate of people and polite to everyone the only reason its followers are in war is to keep Islam from losing its way in the world. I have some christians say its a nasty and hatred religion am sorry if what am saying is mean or anything but Who are the confused one. Christians you people are confused on what your religion is and who god is.

It is what the media protrays it as. But I DO NOT believe that Islam is very violant at all, but the radicals are. I just wish others could see that as well.

Before the thinking part, there is the source which lead to the thought of why Islam is pictured as violent religion. So where do you think the information coming from? What do most earthlings read or see? Newspaper or TV perhaps? Now where these people who wrote the stories get the picture? From actual event coupled with ignorance or wild imagination perhaps? Why single out Islam? Because of fear or obviousness perhaps? What evokes greater interest? What was preached about Islam as religion of peace or what they witness in front of the tube?There's a saying of course if you would like to believe it: where there's smoke there's fire.

This is what you, and most Muslims, believe. The reality is a little different. Read Quran (e.g., Al Tawba, Al Anfal, ... etc). Read Sahih Bukhary and see how prophet Muhammed initiated many wars, looted people's lands, enslaved their women, tortured his prisoners of war, assassinated his opponents, and many other violent acts.

Islam is considered as a violent religion most probably because people already have preconceived notions that all terrorisms happened in this whole world recently derived and made by Muslim people and from Muslim countries.
One of their famous beliefs is pay eye for an eye....
Christian was also violent... in the past. Nowadays G.W Bush is representing the violence of Christians.

Well, the religion is founded on a 52 year old man who took a NINE YEAR OLD GIRL for his bride......The Quran advocates drinking camel urine and eating the wings of flies.....governments in some countries push it on everyone, women are treated like dogs and the extremeists fly airpalnes into massive civilian buildings. Plus all suicide bobmers just "happen" to be muslim ever since WW2 when the Japanese did kamakaze.
I dont know why anyone would think this religion is violent, do you?
It just doesnt make sense.

There is only one logical way to view Islam and that is as a false religion that preaches hate and violence. I have read some of your Koran and have been disgusted by the filth you follow. I will read more just so you and yours cannot say well read it first to know. I have and I do know. You give absolutely no proof as to why Muhammad is a prophet. You give no proof as to why you believe Jesus didn't die on the cross. You give lies as explanations as to why Muhammad could not perform any miracles. Some Muslims say he can and did. Others say he couldn't. Muhammad himself has said he could not. Right there is enough reason to doubt all you believe in. Your prophet is false, so that logically proves your religion is false. There have been Muslims on this very site that say Death to all who do not follow Muhammad. It is a more of a cult than a true religion and it breeds violence because that is what it teaches. We see the proof everyday all over the world.

I know the feeling well, Hinata. I should leave Yahoo alone---it can make me very angry and belligerent toward Christians and their holier that thou attitudes.
I am not a Muslim, but I study the religion, and the Qur'an. I also study my own religious books-the Tanakh and Talmud. Christians spout off what is wrong with other religions, and usually they know nothing about them. I grew up in a Christian home-they do not want to know about any other religion.
And, Fish--------the name of the Prophet is spelled phonetically from the Arabic---it can have several spellings.

Why? Christians don't say anything. Your Muhammad's history says it all. Honey don't depend on what your imam says. Go further and learn with a more open mind and you are going to find the truth about your Muhammad. Christians did not write AL HADITH, QURAN, AL SUNNA AL NABOYIA, or TAFSER AL QURAN.

Well Radical Islams attacked the US....... they are the bad type, just like there are radical Christians. I believe where there are the real believers that aren't completely for pushing the religion on someone hard, there are the ones that will attack someone to make you believe in their religion. And there are Radical Christians out there, just like the radical Islams, who put a bad name to us REAL believers.

Considering the passages in the Quran that speak about fighting unbelievers and Muhammads very own personal example of doing just that, I see Islam for what it is. It is not submission, but oppression.
