Can I claim half a dependant if I contributed half to their living?

We are grandparents and our grandson lives half the time with us each week and half the time with his dad. Can we both claim half a dependant on our income taxes?

No, you have to provide more than 50%. There is no such thing as half a dependent. Check at this link to see all of the other requirements you have to meet to claim a dependent.

no the law states that you have to contribute more than 50% of their support for the entire year.
