Most of the airlines that you fly on fly around the 36000 flight level and sometimes up to 41000 ft. The aircraft are much more fuel efficient at the high altitudes.

It depends on what they get assigned by the ATC and what kind of airplane. For a large plane your cruising altitude will be somewhere between 30,000 and 40,000 feet. The exact height will depend on what direction you're going and how much other
traffic is around.
