I would try and increase that money first. The more people you can help, the better! Once I have all the money that I think I can get......then, I would find families that need food, clothing., gifts for the kids x-mas's. Help some needy family that has a high medical bill due to an illness. Help some families that are out of work...by paying their rent and utilities for a couple of months.

In my case I would not accept the money. I would however, do as I was taught growing up. Its the little things that matter most, such as helping your elderly neighbor after a snowstorm, giving words of encouragement to those who need it and giving others a hand up, not a hand out. The money could be useful to those who are stricken by disease, or maybe lost their home due to a fire or other reasons. While fixing problems by throwing money at it may help, it is still the little (yet big) acts of kindness and selflessness that count. If a million people do what I've said, and do it often it far outweighs what a million dollars can do.

Well' what have we got here! a sequel?
is it really Oprah?
I don't know. but a USD.1M in my country, will convert to about a 50M. and with these amount, to say "we" can be able to do the task of what the question asks, would be a very tall order indeed. however, if this is really the situation, one could only say that, a million is a hell lot of money to help us and others out of the pit of poverty.
and speaking about helping others, lending money for a quick relief is not a good idea to use for such amount only for the next day to be in the same situation!
If I had these amount of money, investing in a cooperative type of livelihood will do the job for many. it can even become a main sources of permanent cure to rid a small village out of dire and chronic poverty...
But please!
stop these subject as soon as possible. it is not a good Idea to put people in a subject that can result into something ugly...

First of all 1 million dollars can help many people and not just one. I would use it to create or purchase money making websites that can generate consistent running cash every month for life and i would offer my help free of charge to maintain these sites and hire a few others to help take care of them. I would then use part of that money to help that person. The rest of the money i would use to set up a group , foundation or boysclub in africa or india to help the poor there that dont have running water or food or sanitation. the people there are crying out for help and i would rather see them happy and healthy then to see one person become rich. We are all in this world together and we must start learning to care for each other before its too late.

I wouldn't give it to any one person. I'd use it to ease some of the hardships for very impoverished children. For instance, where I live the winters are very cold, and there's a lot of kids that must go to school... without proper coats or mitts.
We can talk all we want about creating opportunities for children, but if they're too cold to attend school...they likely won't be in a position to take advantage of future opportunities. They won't have the educational foundation that's required to do that.
There's so many things that kids need to support them emotionally, physically and psychologically as they're growing up.. many of them very basic, proper clothing, proper food... and many don't get those things. So it's no surprise that so many give up on themselves so early in life.

Cash can only alter the surroundings of life. I try to really change peoples lives with truth. I guess that I would buy $1,000,000 worth of Urantia Books and give them away randomly . One to you.
