If you have never been hurt by words then you are lucky.

Always aim never to inflict harm upon another soul. To my mind that should be your guiding principle in life. I know I regularly fail but, contrary to popular belief, I am only human.

Yes, psychological harm is no less damaging to the whole person than physical harm. So I think the basic message is to think before you speak.

It means that people can say horrible and spiteful things in an argument that will hurt the opposing person and these words will haunt that person for a long time because they will always remember them and think that they are true

Well to me it means that people can say some mean things about others, and when they might think it's harmless it can really emotionally damage another person, possibly defining the way they act towards others in the future

Sadly, most people only learn THAT when it happens to them.
Make sure, then, that no-one learns it from you.
