The beauty of the word of god, from the fragments and accounts we have left anyways, is that; it is so esoteric, that people take from it what they want and mold it to fit there needs. Christmas is a great example. God, or Jesus for that matter, never said "celebrate the wise men bringing gifts to Jesus by selling your soul and spirituality to buy materialistic unneeded gifts for all your friends and family." I can see it now, God preaching " Drive yourself, work all the time, get yourself in debt, become dependant on material items to satisfy your happiness, then you can further alienate yourself Karl Marx syle to pay off your debt." Its actually fairly sad, its really just an extension of our new religion, which is, progress at all cost. A corporate culture where the dollar is more important than the soul. All I can say is "God help us".

friend, there are thousands and thousands being starved to death in Dafur, Christians are persecuted and in prison in China and other countries, AIDS is killing multitudes, souls are going into a Christless eternity, and we are suppose to badger each other about giving or not giving Christmas presents ?? Or condemn someone because they like a Christmas tree?? Or they want to honor our Lord and His birth?

if you do anything without respect for G-D then you do not understand TheWord of G-D. if you covet the ten commands of G-D, as if your own, without reference to G-D, then you do not understand TheWord of G-D. can you give me a true reason for christmass being celebrated with G-D? most people are not even aware of adam's repentance on christmass eve, except adam and G-D. and may be the reason for the false name for the woman chaooah, as eve.

If you don't acknowledge His birth (whenever it was), how can you celebrate His death & ressurection? There's alot that's wrong with Christmas, but being a celebration of our Savior's birth isn't one of them.
