There is little difference. They all have traditions, physical training requirements, military science classes and the entire campus experience. And it is all in addition to completing a college degree at the same time.
It is much harder to go to a military school like Texas A&M. You are in classes with civilians while wearing a uniform. And you know that all you have to do is say the word and you could be wearing shorts and T-shirts to the same class. That takes real staying power.

If you are talking about the "Academies" then it is pointless.
They are all collegiate level and not "military school" per se.
Special Forces Qualification Course
Ranger School
S.E.A.L School
All tough schools, and there are far more beyond that all with a very specific task at hand... to make us the BEST at what we do.

SERE school is a gold plated, certified *****. Survival, Evasion, Rescue and Escape is a simulated POW scenario in which you are dropped off near an island and have to avoid detection and detention of said island by sadistec members of your own military posing as foriegn combatants. try it someday, please!

Annapolis: It is the most elite of the military officer training schools. That is it...there is no other reason. unless, of course, you are speaking of enlisted schools then you would be talking about S.E.A.L. which is, by its charter, a school.
