I am thinking of making a new internet show series, "Random Acts of Kindness" on YouTube. I am going to save up some money, and ask for donations. What I will do with this is use it towards charity. I will do such things as going out and giving money to the homeless in the city, giving money to people who have sons and daughters with cancer and can't afford it, and things such as that. Do you have any other ideas for things I can do? And do you have any ideas for how I can edit my show, and get these donations? Any ideas for getting a sponsor? In your opinion, would you watch this show? And finally, any other suggestions?
**I was thinking of using the song "Calling All Angels" by Train as the theme song. Good idea?

I think you are a compassionate and giving person wanting to make a difference.
However, I think that "random acts of kindness" are just that...random and spontaneous and anonymous - an "in the moment" act that is not preplanned and without any expectations of anything in return. A kind act performed the moment the idea or inspiration is placed in your heart - not a planned event, activity or mission. Most importantly, one should never ever have an agenda for an act of kindness.
I am truly not suggesting your dream has an agenda or that you are seeking anything other than helping people. Just please don't let there be any ego involved in your journey..
true random acts of kindness are free

I think this is a great idea! I don't know where you're based, but in Canada there is a group callled Imagine Canada that produces the Canadian Directory to Foundations and Grants (the website of this agency is www.imaginecanada.ca). If you're not in Canada there is probably a group that puts out a similar directory in your country. You might also want to look into arts councils and local faith groups as possible sources of funding. I've never heard the song you're referring to as the theme but it looks promising (and I'll have to listen to it sometime).

Maybe you could do a holiday special and hook up one impoverished family with a sponsoring one. Maybe you could do another program on a refugee family coming and getting their place furnished and someone offering them a job etc. Maybe you could do a show on a Habitat for Humanity build and show how the volunteers got involved and the family's joy in their new place. Good luck!

Maybe. I'm not sold, but then again - i'm not a warm-and-fuzzy person. Maybe you could feature different people performing their random acts?

Here's my opinion - i donate and volunteer regularly. I believe in random acts of kindness and strive to live it. So, why would i send you, a stranger, money to do what i do every day? My dollar helps people where i live, if i sent it to you, only a fraction of it would help somebody (postage and all that good stuff, even if you kept none of it) and it would help somebody where you live.

Yes, there are shows similar to it - i think Amy Grant does one. But the difference is - these people have megabucks to make a huge impact, they are celebrities already. And i don't watch their shows. It's much more fun to volunteer and keep my charity money local than to write a check to a total stranger.

I think that's a great idea and I would definitely want to watch the show. You should advertise on happynews.com where they also have random acts of kindness news. You can try to get sponsors from the online donation websites.

The theme song is a great idea.
Maybe you could have someone in the grocery store and let others go a head of them in line,or put in change for people at state lines.Go to a food pantry and give families hams or turkeys.

You could give books to low-income children who usually have none in their homes. Maybe a publisher would want to sponsor you.
