My dog, a chow/lab is 5 and this year her coat is the thinnest it has ever been. She usually has a real 'flag' for a tail and it is not that way at all. She is in good health and eats good food and eats well, sees the vet. all the time so I did not understand. Live in Missouri.

If you are real concerned talk to the Vet/
There is an old saying which has been pr oven true.
The thinner the coat the milder the winter.

What kind of food do you feed her? If you are feeding her a Purina brand you might want to switch to Iams (Cheap alternative) or Eukanuba (More expensive). Also, you could consider giving her a supplement like DermCaps. Also make sure that she is getting enough exercise.

Cant tell over the computer but, sound like it could be allergies, nutrition or skin disorder? Only a vet check will let you know for sure. Time for a check up?

Your vet should have supplements for you to give her. There a little expensive but worth it.
