Read through the feedback comments - 56 could be people he has bought stuff off and not sold to. Check out the items he has sold as well to see what kind of items he generally sells. My rule normally is if I'm buying something kinda expensive then not to buy it from someone with feedback under 200 and fingers crossed I've not been bumped yet.

If it seems too good to be true it generally IS. on Ebay, you have to trust your intuition.
In 4 years on Ebay and over 160 transactions I have never seen a bargain YET. So if the price is suspiciously low, theres a reason.
Don't forget this could be some grotty guy wearing a string vest, with a cigarette dangling from his lips. Working out of an old shed or lockup somewhere.
Having said that, the feedback system is good ( but not infallible).
Personally the advice I always give is, don't buy anything on Ebay unless you can afford to LOSE the money. But like I said, I have done 160 transactions and only got burned once. I lost 98 pounds when I did get ripped off , though.

the chances are that the product is ok since he has 100% feedback on all his 56 things, but 56 isnt all that many so there is still a chance that the xbox isnt new. If i was in your position i would try to find a seller with over 100 things with 100% feedback.

ok, as an ebay buyer and seller, i hope i can help! although as mentioned, the feedback system is good, it obviously doesnt reassure your worries about parting with that kind of money. However, i can recommend one thing to you- paypal. if you pay through paypal, and it really isnt what it seems, open aa dispute with the seller, and either he'll refund you the money, or, if he wont, paypal will. obviously you'll have to send the item back, but whats that in comparison? also, make sure it is sent through some kind of recorded delivery, as a lot of sellers still dont do this, and from personal experience, stuff goes missing (if it was even sent) when not sent recorded. if you have any questions, just email me at joanna.walsh@yahoo.co.uk

You are buying from someone you don't know on the advice of others' feedback. It's not as safe as going to a retailor. It's not even as safe as buying it from a private owner in person. That being said, my wife and I have bought a number of items through Ebay. We've been happy with all of them. If the guy has 56 positive feedbacks and the price isn't so low as to be suspicious, I would go ahead with the sale.
Have fun with : Gears of War.

Hi, if he has 56 positive feedback ebay would have made him eligible for 'paypal buyer protection' (usually covers up to 1500 dollars 20000 wioth a motor vehicle). If this person does not offer paypal buyer protection I would say it is a scam. If he does have it and he still rips you off you get all of your money back. You can usually see a thing for paypal buyer protection near the top towards the right of the screen. I hope this has helped you and good luck with getting your xbox 360.

He has had 56 buyers which does not make him a power seller and he could have sold other items that dont amount to the value that a 360 has. I really dont trust buying stuff online, but make sure there is a return policy or something

I've never had a problem with E-bay. Go for it. The thing I've learned with E-bay is that the sellers in particular are trustworthy as they have to supply personal details to you. therefore if you get a product and it is nothing like the description they are still liable for false description, or if you have a few large friends they are liable to a beating!!! Sellers aren't the problem on E-bay, the buyers are the only people not to trust.

The trouble with ebay is the feedback system there has been a few times when i should have left negative feedback but haven't because you know they will leave it for you and no one likes that so a lot of time the feedback a person has is not always accurate

Have a good look at the feedback and see what he has sold in the past.
See if he is selling a number of this Item, if so e-mail the user who bought it from him and find out if it was a good deal.
like someone else said Do not bid more than you can afford to loose.
