I have a Norcent 27" HD-ready TV. Model # LT-2722.

I want to buy either a Xbox 360 Component HD AV Cable or a Xbox 360 Monster Cable 10' Component Cable.

TV Specs at http://www.norcent.net/spec_sheets/LT-2722.pdf

Should i purchase a Xbox 360 Component HD AV Cable or a Xbox 360 Monster Cable 10' Component Cable?

Are they all compatible?
What is the best cable for my Norcent TV?

Thanks in advance!

You posted this in the games and gear section also so I will repost my answer to you:

Please do not listen to anyone that says monster cable will dramatically improve your picture. It will not. People will justify the money they spent on monster cables when they use them because otherwise they would feel bad about the money they spent(this is subconscious)

The Microsoft cable is quite well constructed and has the option of connecting a optical cable should you need that in the future. Stick with it and save the money.

If you want to see what I am talking about, follow my reference and do a search for Monster cables. Keep in mind these people do home theater for a living and still buy cables from monoprice.com or bluejeanscable.com

To the person below me: Component cables are not digital cables and do not transmit a digital signal. Also the Microsoft component cable comes with an optical port on it so you can still get 5.1 from it.

This is depending on not only your TV, but your surround sound system and if you have one.

The 10" Monster Cable with Component and Fiber Optics is meant to work with Surround Sound. In fact the only way to get 5.1 surround sound (well, the easiest way to) is through Fiber Optic or Digital Coax. So if you don't have a surround sound system, dont get the Monster Cable with Fiber Optic line.

Then comes the difference in quality. Microsoft Components AV and Monster Component AV for the 360 both accomplish the same thing: they can get a digital signal split over three channels to your TV.

The difference is in the details. Monster uses injections of polyurethane to help prevent ghosting on the screen, I cannot pull up your TV specs for some reason but will tell you that if your TV is anything else than LCD, then you dont need to worry about ghosting.

Microsoft Cables, according to customers, have been extremely reliable in the past. We at BestBuy have had no one come in complaining about their components, only some who want to go VGA or HDMI (which is in the works for spring).

Really, this is a case where you could go with the cheapest of the two, whatever is cheaper is likely to work just as well.

It's very simple, are you rich? Then get the more expensive cable. You will not see any difference unless you have a thousand different power cables running over and along you component cable which cause interference and the Monster cable is a more protective cable.

Go Fiber-Optic. It's easy. It's fast. It's great quality. You'll never know the difference.

o.k. you definitely do not want to go with the fiber optic cable, because light travels faster when it is in a strait line and extremly short say 2-3 feet long....... the hd av cable is a good choice , however going with the monster cable 10' would be a wise choise since they have been in the business of making cables for years , and thats thier primary thing......

I would go with the Microsoft product as opposed to the Monster product; all of the people I personally know use the Microsoft product with no problems, but here's the bigger reason: if anything should happen to your Xbox, it'll be tough to get your warranty enforced when you were using a non-Microsoft product.
