Same type of food as chickens. Maize/corn seeds etc. Veggies/fruit bugs worms. While they like bread too much of it is not good for them it can make them sick. Bread sours in the crop.
They also filter plants from water. A duck has serations in its bill for taking a mouthfull of water and separating water from plants. You can buy floating pond pellets for waterfowl from the pet shop. Floating fish food is a different protein percentage to what a duck requires so it should not be a staple diet.

My granddaughter said they eat long green things under the water. And bread crumbs.

algae, zebra muscles, small fish, bread crumbs if you are looking to go to the park and feed them. small children and pets.
