a distinct and balanced ecosystem. New cultural traditions, i.e Mexican foodstuff. a a lot-needed exertions source. Taxes. Immigrants make contributions as a lot, if no extra, to American society, than those who were born right here. also, i'm from India and immigrated even as i became 6 (legally,) so do not bypass insulting immigrants. We pay taxes, are knowledgeable, and charm a gifted exertions base. i ask your self what you would imagine about what immigrants make contributions in case you acquire something from my dad's corporation or had my mom, an ER record, keep your life. imagine about that.

Hi there, very interesting question. Yes, I think Islam can contribute a lot to any culture, it is a complete way of life. Like you said, dressing modestly among many other things. Islam encourages exessively upon neighbourly love. One is supposed to share whatever they have for a meal with their neighbours... Also, the fourth pillar of Islam, Zakah (charity) is obligatory upon muslims where 2.5% of their earnings are to be given away to the poor every year... Imagine if every human who is capable to did this... wouldn't this be wonderful for the many people who are homelss and poverty stricken... Alcohol is strictly prohibited in Islam.. So, it is good since there are so many drunken driving accidents, abuses etc. Islam introduced inheritance rights for women and daughters back in time where women were denied... so it was modernising and upliftment of women... And there is no place for racism in Islam. No matter what caste, colour or creed... etc etc..
So, people who think otherwise are definitely wrong.

Peace to all!

Melanie Phillips, the author of Londonistan, noted at the Freedom Center conference that what Britons hear is best described as "a dialogue of the demented." In this dialogue, European Islamists protest victimization at the hands of the native E uropeans while threatening to kill them, and native Europeans apologize for upsetting the Muslim radicals and loudly criticize the US and Israel for not going gently into that good night.

In the meantime, jihadist ideologues and political leaders are flourishing in Europe today. In Britain, aside from happily helping Al-Jazeera's ratings, the government has hired Muslim Brotherhood members as counterterrorism advisers.

Muslims are contributing to the US culture. But we are not hearing all of what they are contributing. We won't hear through the main stream media the works of evil Muslims are perpetrating on our culture but we do hear of the many good things they are offering. By comparison, Christianity is presented as at worst an evil influence including racism and fear mongering and at best, numbing the minds of millions. Why don't you go to my blog and hear for yourselves the leaders of Islam and Islamic nations saying what they want to bring to America?
Under the title, 'In Their Own Words' you can click on bold words and be linked to videos of the most popular political and religious leaders speaking their agenda before cheering crowds.

Of course dressing better. And how about some morals and the fear of God and the afterlife. I think if the Shariah was followed here, there would be much less crime. Have you ever been to a muslim country? They leave their shops and stores to pray and leave out money and jewels because people just do not steal there. In all of society it is proven that Muslim countries have the lowest crime rate. Hmmmm......

Yes, dressing better of course, lol! That would have to be the most obvious, lol! There's also, in my opinion, the fact that when a person is introduced to Islam, s/he is also introduced to a world of cultures and differences that exist out there. Some peoples I never knew about before being introduced to Islam. Sure, there are many ways an American can discover other cultures, but Islam is a huge contributor on my part. There is a verse in the Quran that says God created us into nations and tribes so that we may learn from one another and not despise one another. This is certainly something many Americans can benefit from.

There's also the charity that is a part of belief in Islam. I'm not saying that "Muslim" countries don't have it's share of poor people, lol, even "Muslim" countries can benefit from this Islamic teaching. A Muslim is to give annual charity of about 2% of their income, which doesn't seem like much but when you put together say 100,000 people giving charity, it adds up pretty darn fast. Islam commands that the big guys and they guys on top not forget about the little guys that need their help, and to remember from Whom that wealth came from.

In Christianity, one of the 10 commandments is to obey your parents, however this ideal isn't quite as strong as it is in Islam. Again, another verse in the Quran says that heaven lies at the feet of a mother. By showing us this verse, God is pretty much telling us that your mother is above the heavens, so keep that in mind when dealing with her on a regular basis. A story of the Prophet (saws) tells of a man who circled the Kaaba 7 times during Hajj with his mother on his back. This is a long journey mind you. When he finished he asked if this was enough suffering on his behalf to take care of what he felt was his debt to his mother for bearing and raising him, but he was told that this was not even equal to one pain of childbirth. In a good Muslim family you will always find the children obeying and respecting the parents. In my own personal story here, my mother and I had our problems before I converted, however after the fact, and after I had gained a better knowledge of who she was to me according to religion (even though she is not Muslim) it helped me to overcome those troubles and strengthened the ties between us. I don't know if she realises it was Islam that helped me, but she certainly can tell a difference.

Did you know that the modern world is built largely on the inventions of muslims throughout history?

Islam can guide Americans to stop worshiping God's Prophet, and instead worship God as Jesus said you should.

Diversity and tolerance.

I love seeing different people and different cultures. That does not mean people need to convert, or follow them. Just that it would be nice to have all the differences allowed to be different and accepted as well.
