Me and my lil sister who is 9 were in the bathroom and I was doing her hair and she started telling me her stomach hurt and then she said she couldn't see anything and I kept asking her ? and she fainted on me and I picked her up and she started throwing up in the sink then she was fine.....now she is a lil pale but she is up playing again....

The dr. said a while back that she was going to be starting her period soon...could that be a result?

When I am sick to my stomach, I get VERY light headed and if I'm not going to vomit right away, I have to lay on the bathroom floor. Sometimes I can barely make TO the bathroom. I asked the Dr. about this the last time I was there (about a week ago) and she said that it is because my blood pressure drops so low and that the same thing happens to her. I can feel my blood pressure go down, it's an awful feeling, to be so nauseous and wanting to faint at the same time. I would think that your body is so busy sending blood to the stomach that it drains away from your head. I do not think this has anything at all to do with your sister starting her period.

I fainted quite a few times when I started mine... it does happen. It's a big physical change and your body needs time to adjust. But the fact that she threw up with it merits some concern. Fainting is a preservation response from your body when something is too much to handle.

You need to make sure that your family knows what has happened, and get your little sister to the doctor to make sure nothing else is causing it. In the meantime don't let her play anything too physically demanding, and keep a close eye on her so you can see if she gets dizzy again (the first time I passed out I hit my head on the bathroom counter). It's a good thing that you were there to catch her when it happened!

If it was just from this approaching, don't worry. Your sister may have to be careful for a while, but she will most likely outgrow it before too long.

It could be her starting her period but I had those symptoms but my started with me getting dizzy and headaches. I went in for a tilt table and the doctor said I had neurocardiogenic syncope. I'd get a headache and then get dizzy. I'd faint for a split second and then throw up everywhere. Throwing up helped the brain and heart balance back out. The big thing was the lack of salt in my body which didn't help the brain and heart coincide with each other. In turn, when I stood up my brain wouldn't tell my heart to speed up and pump blood faster because I stood up. Then the heart would race causing fainting.

I don't know.

Lots of things cause fainting. I'm a guy and old. I fainted recently. My problem low blood pressure.

If the dr said, so it could be the case.

All you can do is support your sister. I highly recommend a hug and not too worry too much at the moment. If she is off being an energetic kid and the dr is not worried, you don't need to be.

Me,my sister and my mom were in Walmart and she kept saying she doesn't feel good. Than she said her stomach hurt and she felt dizzy. She also mentioned she couldn't see than she was out for about 10 seconds and she woke back up than went out for about 5seconds. She is ok now but we think it's because my mom used to faint almost every day when she was her age so that might be it. In other words it might be genetics

Fainting before the onset of menses is rare. She could have an illness that caused it but really, she needs to be at the doctor right now. More serious things need to be ruled out. Your mother needs to know this ASAP!

Hi there
it could have been due to so many reasons starting from a hypoglycemia , a high grade fever, menarche, or even petit mal...
Leave it to your expert paediatrician / physician ! There is no meaning in your going on worrying about it....
relax...
let the doctor worry about it..right ??
best wishes..
