Hmmmm.. well, I hope with this piece of information, people who have been insulting Prophet Mohammed (PBUH), get some real sense. And hopefully understand that during those times, if it was alright to get pregnant at age 12... then it was alright to get married too...

History states that girls married off at 12 years old, around the onset of puberty and menarche, the1st menstrual period, during that time was very common and openly celebrated as a mark of adulthood. Boys typically marry at 14, the time when sperm is mature enough to conceive. In today's Jewish customs known as Bar Mitzvah and Bat Mitzvah, boys and girls "come of age" and are required to obey the commandments. In early times, Bar/Bat Mitzvah meant the marrying age. Marrying at a later age simply means that they were too busy to marry, divorced, or widowed. Today especially in the Western World, marrying at that age is demonized by modern intellects and condemned in every opportunity possible especially by conservatists. Mary conceived Jesus as a virgin. However, she did not remain a virgin after she gave birth to Jesus because the Holy Scriptures (Bible) stated that Joseph did not "know" Mary until she gave birth to their first child. "Know" here is the English translation for a Greek word that simply means sex. (Note: the non-Hebrew/Greek/Aramaic translation is very conservative). This shows that Joseph served his husbandly duties to his young teenage wife. (pls check source below). About Aisha, Muslims should not feel ashamed that Aisha was engaged to Mohammed at 6 then married off at 9. It's still within the sanctity of marriage, Christian or not. However, Aisha's marrying age is an unsettled issue because some materials may claim that she was 12-19 years old when married, although several Hadiths (notably Sahih Bukhari Vol 5 Book 58 Hadith 234 and Sahih Muslim Book 8 Hadith 3311) state that she was six or seven years old when betrothed (engaged) and nine years old when married or when the marriage was consummated (meaning honeymoon-devirginized in plain English). This truth simply cannot be understood by narrow-minded individuals who just believe what everybody else does.

neither were. The first answerer is ignorant. According to Christian teachings Mary was married to Joseph at 12-14, while Joseph was in his 30s or 40s. So yes if they criticise Muhammad, they have to say Mary was also a victim. As usual the Christians apply different rules to Muhammad and the other people in the Bible

Heaven is a place for them to eat, drink wine and perpetual sex. lol, it(Islam) is definitely a confused Arabian Gnostic heresy invented by Mohammad for his own carnal desires. times have changed since then. mary was about 14...women got married at about 14 in them times and they were pregnant at that age, back then there was nothing wrong with it...there is now though. God didn't have sex with mary if that's what you are implying, he just planted his seed in her to create Jesus.

Asma bint Abu Bakr passed away at age 100 hundred, the date was 73 A.H (695). She was ten years older than Aisha Bint Bakr, her sister. That would make her 90 years old at 695 A.D.. (she didn't live that long though she passed away at age forty). She married the Prophet (PBUH) at 622 A.D . 695-622=73. 73-90= eighteen.

“Asma died in 73 A.H. at the age of one hundred years. She was ten years older than her sister Aisha


3.) The author of the well-known collection of Hadith 'Mishkat al-Masabeeh', Sheikh Waheed-ud-Deen, writes in his well-known book 'Ahmal fi Asma’ al-Rijjal':

"At the time of the consummation of her marriage Sayedah ‘Aishah’s age was not less than 18-19 years."
