I don't think that its strange, I was the same, and I hadn't even gone to antenatal classes. I just held the belief that people have been giving birth for millenia, and the human race is still here, so they must have done something right trusting nature.
I did get a little worried when labour began though!

So what if they give you a certain look. Who said that you had to conform to the feelings and opinions of others? By the way, they probably know something that you don't. Nevertheless, it is foolish to be afraid of the inevitable since you became pregnant by choice.
Yes, giving birth is painful, but it helps very much if you are in good shape. The raising the child part depends on your financial standing. If you have the money, good. If you don't, shame on you and hang on. The ride is just about to begin.
Take care,

All I ever wanted was to have kids and be a mom. Birth was daunting at first, but the more pregnant I get the less I even care about how scary it might be, and focus more and more on having my body back and a baby in my arms.
I think most people dont live like that, so theyre naturally afraid of something new and life changing.
I dont think theres anything wrong with you. I get the same looks and responses myself.

I was 17 when I had my first and the only thing that scared me was child birth. Other than that I was confident. I am 25 now and am expecting my 4th baby in June. I think it is good you have confidence. Congrats on the baby.

You should be afraid---labor hurts a hundred times more than anything you can imagine!
