I try cooking his favorties: fried chicken, french fries, hamber helper, and etc, but most of the time he picks over it and won't eat it. He does the same at Mcdonalds and other places. he's 4 feet 3 inches and yes the doctors says he should be at his little sisters size and is worried too. my husband gives him juices and junk food when i try not too.

We are at a very fixed income and I can't just go here and there for this and that. Sorry meant to say he's at 4 feet. He's average for his height and loves junk food and wants to do nothing but drink sodas and juices. I restrict them and only gives it to him and his sisters when they are finished with their food. If not then he gets 2 oz. and that's it. Pediasure is very expensive and doesn't really fit into our budget. I've asked another doctor that treated me when i was his age and he told me the same the his dr did. Restrict his sweets and juices. Its not working when his father feels we shouldn't do that. I need some help people.

I had the same problem with my son and finally I would give him what he wanted for lunch but at dinner when we all sit down at the table, he eats what we eat and if he is mad or refuse, we ignore him and tell him to be quiet at the table if he can talk about something nice, and then we plan something really fun after dinner and he has to sit there until the food is gone. We do not listen to him whine about the food or reason with him. We Gently but firmly say you can get down when your dinner is gone and then leave the room. After he misses out on some fun things a few time he will eat. Just don't reason with him and make him eat what everyone else is eating. He is plenty old enough to eat pretty much everything. It is a control thing for the child.

I would advise continuing to do what you are doing..if you were the same way when you were a child you are most probably fighting a losing battle that is based purely on genetics. My ten year old son is the same way..as was his father. I try feeding him what he likes..none of it is expensive..Macaroni and Cheese ( my kids will eat the cheaper brands but prefer Kraft..and it's not that much more expensive), cheese sticks, chicken nuggets, french fries..LOTS of Ovaltine (v.v.good for them and far cheaper than Pediasure), Cheerios are good too and can be given in baggies as snacks as well as cereal with milk (no sugar and filling..there is a really good off-brand of these too that can be bought in bags) If there are any vegetables or fruits that he likes..give them to him often. Mine likes peas so I cook them every other day. Make sure that he takes vitamins too..just to be safe. Other than that..there isn't much you can do about it. Forcing him to eat more than he wants could, in time, cause more problems than it solves.....I would warrant a guess that eventually he will start to gain weight..so don't worry about it unduly..

Isn't 52 lbs about average for a 7 year old? I mean how tall is he?
Did the doctor say he was on the low side of the scale? Sounds like a candidate for eating at McDonalds at least the burger and fries will fatten him up a bit.
What are you feeding him now? Maybe take him to the store and let him pick what he wants to eat?

well first off see if u can find n make things he is interested in eating. I used 2 take my daughter shopping with me and let her pick out what she wanted. dont force the issue though he will eat when he is ready. try getting him 2 drink milkshakes n drinks with a lot of cals as well as vitamins n minerals. if u can sneak in some protien shake with his shakes it will atleast help him maintain his weight.
my daughter loved bananna shakes n I was able 2 sneak in the protien drink I had got from gnc so it helped. she eventually started 2 like foods n solved her own issues. be careful though if it goes on for more than a month or so I would try couceling maybe there is another isssues why he is not eating.
good luck n stay calm hun it will all work out.

If you don't give him junk food and sodas he will starve? I don't think so. Don't buy the rubbish. Don't force him to eat. Put his meal on the table and quietly remove it afterwards. Buy a range of foods he might be inclined to pick at when nothing else is in available. Jogurts, fruits, tinned fruits, dried fruits, milk shakes to which you can add vitamins or protein drinks unbeknown to him. Talk this over with your doctor first so he can be discreetly monitored. Don't panic - or at least try not to show it.

My 7 year old eats all the time and is only 54 pounds and over 4 feet tall. Really, I wouldn't worry about it. He won't starve, and the next time he goes through a growth spurt, he'll eat everything in site.

tell the dr. to check him for worms. this could be causing the lack of appetite. you can also do it yourself. get you a flashlight and lay him down in a very dark room and look at his or her rectom, and usually you can see them. and you can also put a bandaid on the rectom while he sleeps and tell that way also. but the dr. can tell by test if you are not sure, and they will have to give him some medicine to get rid of them. there are different kinds of worms people get in their bodies. people can get them as well as dogs and other animals. i would almost bet that is the problem. nothing about the looking for them or the treatment will hurt. tell the child it does not hurt. hope he gets better soon.

It's not the food it's the atmosphere. I can't eat in overly noisy places either. Ask the school if there is a quieter environment he can eat in. I won't even bother going INTO a noisy restaurant for a dinner no matter how "classy" it is.

My son is 7 and very lean and TALL for his age; My son weighs about 59 lbs. I would say your son is okay. If the dr. says he is fine, I wouldn't worry about it. Get some of his favorite foods and if that doesn't work, believe that when he is hungry, he will eat.

deepest college is the insignia persons richclass. US richclass refuse to pay into the rustic's societal education classes, and instead use US company-earned funds to construct their own unique utopia. "Commoners" are locked out, on the same time as "commoners" outfitted the companies. As for living house coaching, knock your self out. do not care contained in the least.
