The LA County Department of Public Health is giving free flu shots to LA County residents (including Van Nuys residents).
There are public health clinics in Glendale, Pacoima and I think North Hollywood.

I went on the internet. You can go to yahoo or google and type in flu shots and your zip code.
I was able to go to a clinic which was free.
There are several pharmacies like Walgreens that are giving them. Costcos and Stater Bros. are also giving them.

Call your doctor and ask them - they should be able to tell you where or they should offer the shots themselves. Barring that, check with local drug stores - they sometimes offer low cost shot clinics. Good luck!
