can i paint laminate trim... its got that shiny layer on it... would a primer be enough to be able to paint over it? what kind of primer?

can do my walls different colors such as yellow, green and wine red colors? i have an open concept, so everything needs to flow but i want to use several colors to accent each room.

You can paint the laminate trim with a primer base, but it will be very easy to chip the paint off. If it's important to you that it be painted, buy extra paint in that color so you can touch up. As for your walls, if yellow and wine red are in your scheme, keep the rest of the decor in warm tones also, and it will all flow beautifully! The most important design aspect is that you love the space- good luck!!

I'm not sure about the trim, but you should be able to ask any paint department.

As for painting your walls different colors, go with what you want, but you'll want to make sure they're complementary. As a general rule, darker colors make rooms feel closed in. Lighter colors reflect light, so rooms feel more spacious. If you really love a color, but think it's too much, perhaps just do an accent wall in that color and choose something more neutral for the rest of the walls.

I would use the red in the living room and a light green in any room opened tothe living room. My daughter has these colors in her living room and kitchen. Looks beautiful. If your rooms are small, you don't want too many colors. About the laminate trim, call a hardware store. Lowes, home depot, some place like that to be sure. Good luck.
