Do you feel that people are born into sin? This question is stemmed from something I read earlier about Original Sin. I do not follow the Christian faith, so I really don't know your beliefs on this. Any thoughts welcome; thanks.

Yes, I believe that every person is "born into sin" due to the Fall of Adam as recorded in Genesis chapter 3.

Romans 5:12 states, "Therefore, just as sin entered the world through one man, and death through sin, and in this way death came to all men, because all sinned—".

Psalm 51:5 is very clear on this issue: "Surely I was sinful at birth, sinful from the time my mother conceived me."

Sinning is "natural" to human beings because we ARE born into sin as the Bible teaches. But the Good News is that Jesus Christ came into this world to seek and to save those who are lost (Luke 19:10). When he calls you, he will save you if you respond to him in repentance and faith. Repentance means that you turn from your sin and obey Christ as he leads you throughout your life. Faith means that you place your trust in Christ to forgive you of your sins. His death and resurrection from the dead are the basis for his forgiveness of your sins. You must accept what he did in order to be saved.

I hope this helps.

An in depth understanding of man’s spiritual nature would underscore the true meaning of being “born into sin,” as many ideas are put on the table. Man (true man) was never born into sin, because he is and remains the image of God. However, the “old man” is not the image of God, but the sinner. You may have to research this “old man” concept to start to grasp the entire idea. Christ came so that we (humans) could get a glimpse of the real man hidden by the mist of human belief. This answer is just the shell of it.

Various Christian groups will answer this question differently.

Some believe that all those born after Adam inherit the guilt of Adam's sins.

Others believe that only a tendency towards sinning is inherited from our progenitor.

And still others believe that each person enters the world completely free of sin or a even a tendency towards sin.

(n.b., there are a myriad of Christian groups who hold some variance of one of the above mentioned positions)

I'm not really Christian, but I believe in God. No, I don't believe people are born into sin. They are, however, born with certain personality traits that may lead them to sin later in their life. The fantastically talented guy with a super ego may have the sin of arrogance, while some will desire drugs and alcohol more than others.

It's all about your personality. God favors the beautiful ones with a desire to help humanity, like John Lennon. I really think God set him up to be famous, and for some reason took him back after he'd done his thing.

I'm a Christian and I've been reading a wonderful book by a very intelligent atheistic evolutionist named Richard Dawkins. The book is called "The Selfish Gene." Even though I'm not fond of his attacks on religion and I don't completely agree with evolution (although, naturaly selection only makes common sense), I agree with the rest of the book. I think it basically proves that we have original sin. We're genetically selfish. Sin comes from selfishness. I would highly reccommend this book.

WE all are born into sin, we came from the sex act & that was the original sin, Not the act itself, But it was done in the garden out of God's due process of time & the serpent tempted Eve.

In general, whether or not you are born into sin, you DO sin your first sin early on. At this point, you are no longer sinless, and you fall short of God's standards. God made a way back to him, but you have to want his forgiveness. We can't even die for our own sins, so he sent his sinless son. We inherit sin though, yes. Never has someone not sinned, but Jesus.

Are you people retarded! I have been a divout christion most my entire life, and you other people who claim to follow christ are as far from him as an anti-christ, really! I say no. a person is not guilty of sin until they are aware of sin. a sin is what the spirit convicts you of, the holy spirit. Since we are "guilty by our own convictions" it is impossible to convict that which you are unaware of. If it were true then aborted babies would all be bound for hell, punished for their own murder. anyone who says the opposite is a liar and a pooh head bound for a devils hell!!!

To be born damned. It is a hard concept to wrap one's mind around. How can a newborn be in sin? I guess, you can see sin as a virus or bacteria that all humans have in their bodies. It may be apparent, it may not...like e.coli....

So, God loves His creation...as I love my compositions, but the flaws keep me from sharing and publishing all. So, God loves a flawed people....He was kind enough to provide a loophole, and called people. Those who have ears to hear (it) should listen.
