Well i have a girlfriend, and i love her very much. one of my closest friends wants to hang out sometime, like dinner/movie or both, but just the two of us, and as friends. Do you think my girlfriend will be jealous, and jump to conclusions?

I'm assuming the "friend" is a woman, though you don't say so. If you want to "hang out" by yourself with another woman, even if you declare that it is just "as friends," your girlfriend would be right to have a problem with it. She would be foolish if it doesn't cause her concern.

A committed relationship means that you set appropriate boundaries for all of your other relationships. A dinner and a movie alone are dating activities. Feel free to do these things with two or three friends or to include your old friend with you and your girlfriend. If that image is jarring, it could be because you recognize already that this old friend is asking for something inappropriate.

When I began dating my husband, I had many men friends that I was used to hanging out with. I remember going out with that group of guy friends and feeling like I was wasting time. I would have much rather been with my husband. The amount of time I spent with those other friends lessened and the things we did together changed. Why would I go to dinner and a movie with them and give up a night out with my favorite guy?

Having a girlfriend doesn't mean you have to give up your friends, but your friendships with other women will have to change. They can't go on as they did before. If you would rather spend time with this other friend than go out with your girlfriend, you are hooked up with the wrong woman.

if it's a guy i wouldn't worry about it too much. but, if your friend is a woman, i'd say no. not only because she may or may not get jealous but, if you love her like you say you do then, respect her also and don't even consider putting her or yourself in a situation like that if she's a true friend....your g/f should be more than welcome to come along. you should look at it and see the pros and cons of it. also let me ask you this. why does she want you alone. i can only guess but, it doesn't mean that i'm right because you know her much better than i do. or switch it around. is it cool for your girl to go out with a guy friend? hope this helps

i think she'll have a little bit of a problem with it but i you do take her dont go any more then just friendso your girlfriend probably wont be anymore if she finds out.

Note* There is nothing wrong with two friends hanging out together.

Of course! Women want there men exclusively, otherwise what is the point of having them? Do I want my man to go sit in a dark room for two hours next to another woman watching a movie--uhh NO!!!
Do I want my man to expend any of his charms, his conversation, his love, admiration, attentions on another woman when he could be expending it on me? definitely not!
