God sacrificed his "only son" to save mankind.

FROM WHAT? THE FUTURE?

That makes no sense at all.

For whatever reason, man decided he could do a better job of bettering himself without God than he could by obeying Him. So he basically set himself up as god.

That didn't work out too well and no matter what storyline you want to follow, God was obviously NOT amused. He withdrew certain gifts from mankind.

Now because He's crazy mad in love with man and because He wanted His people to be with Him forever, He had to figure a way to make that happen. A solution that would not only satisfy justice but allow for mercy as well.

Solution: Have a human being take that sin and all the others committed since on his own shoulders and pay the price. That would satisfy justice. But the sin was committed against the Eternal Father. No mere human could hope to satisfy Eternal Justice. And to make an ordinary man try would be no act of mercy. So He sent His Son, giving Him a human nature complete with human body, mind and soul. Jesus satisfied justice by paying for our sins. He satisfied mercy by not forcing us to do the job. He gives us the result gratis, free, just for the asking.

And faith rarely does make sense, dear. It's based on mysteries far beyond our finite abilities to comprehend. That's WHY they call it faith!

The penalty for disobedience is death.
All have been disobedient.
All stand guilty.
If you were in court and you committed a crime with the death penalty you would be put to death.
Jesus paid the death penalty for all of us... so we would have the opportunity to understand that God LOVES us.. . that God is trustworthy... that to obey God is to trust Him... and when we have learned to trust Him we will live in a perfect world. ...no sickness, disease, death. All these are a result of disobedience
God's laws are for a reason. God doesn't play. He says what He will do and what He will not do. He has good boundaries. His Word the Bible tells us what to expect of Him and how He expects us to act.
Jesus was with God in the beginning. Jesus chose to come. He also had free will. God did not give up on us. He wanted us to learn to choose to do what is right and good.

What the future holds is the final battle between good and evil. I hope I will be standing on the Lord's side. That is the future He wants to save us from. Evil and all who have sided with evil will be destroyed and only what is perfected will survive. I'm on the Lord's side.

Very good question. If God had not implemented a plan to communicate with a kind of man (in belief only) that He never created, we would be stuck in human beliefs forever, and you and I would NEVER understand or turn to God. Jesus had to be obedient in order to open the door forever for mankind. It all makes perfect sense as understanding comes on board, but is darkness without the understanding.

I think your religion is Islam. Am I correct? Almighty Yahweh Elohim from the begining have instructed His people to sacrifice unblemish animals for their sins. However, in the long run people started to do like a habit. So He no longer accepted these kind of sacrifices.

But since Yahweh Elohim so love the world, he send His only begotten Son, (since He is the only qualified without blemish without sin) to be the ultimate (final) sacrifice for mankind. For those who believe in Him, (accepted Him that He died for you and that He is your sacrifice for the forgiveness of all your sins, you) shall not perish but shall have eternal life.

It's impossible for God to sacrafice his only son, because the Son (Jesus) is God, so therefore, God is sacrificing himself. Get it?

No? Well neither do I, cuz Christianity is corrupt. Good luck finding an answer.

Believing in a God doesn't make much sense and believing that that God had a son makes even less sense...I used to believe in the tooth-fairy but long ago I realized it was just in my head, the same goes for God...

We are all born with the sin nature since the first Adam rebeled against God. The wages of sin is death.

Many choose the wide ways that leads to destruction, but few choose the straight and narrow way. Jesus shed His own blood for the remission of sins for many.

We have all sinned and gone our own way.

Only the righteous can die for the unrighteous.

In Genesis it is written the the seed of the Woman would defeat the hold of satan and death. Death has ruled since the fall of the first Adam.

Jesus was born of a virgin, Only begotten Son of God conceived of the Holy Spirit, without sin nature (like the 1st Adam before the fall). Jesus was temted by the snake like the first Adam, yet without sin. Jesus was the Sinless Lamb of God. Because He Is without sin, defeated Death & Hell and rose from the dead, victorious over death.

So we all sin and come short of Gods Glory. The wages of sin is death, but the gift of God is eternal Life. It is only fair that because of one mans (1st Adam) sin, death has reigned; that by only one mans (Jesus, Last Adam) righteousness, life everlasting for those reborn spiritually of God.

God has a purpose for us that is everlasting. It is Gods will that none should perish and all should come to repentance & will have everlasting life.

To the world the teachings of the cross is foolishness to those who don't believe. But to us who believe it is the Power of God.

And why is that God in His omnipotence only gets to have one son? This story just gets better and better.

It makes no sense to you because you are thinking inside a little box. Think outside your Little box so God can bless your life.

No it makes no sense at all. That is what Christians find so appealing about it. If you can get somebody to buy into that then the rest is easy.
