only thing i can think of that would be like a disease or disorder where your body does things involuntarily (ie: laughing for no reason)is tourettes syndrome, but that can vary from alot of different symptoms.

Laughing sickness actually refers to a prionic disease called kuru. In the late stages of the disease sufferers are prone to fits of laughter, crying or other emotional outbursts. The uncontrollable fits are due to destruction of brain tissue. The closes related diseases are: scrapie in sheep, mad cow disease in cattle, creutzfeld-jacobs disease in humans, and chronic wasting disease in deer. There are others, but i really don't feel like listing them all. They are all diseases that cause spongiform encephalopathy (holes in the brain) caused by prions (infectious proteins) rather than bacteria or viruses.

its not a disease in and of itself, it could either be just something they do when they're nervous, or they could have tourettes
