So many different answers, your best bet so you know for sure is to contact your local spay and neuter clinic, or vet, try finding a clinic first, they are less expensive. Then ask them the best age to spay your cat. Yes on average, it is somewhere between 3 and six months, but it is best if you ask your vet or clinic so you know for sure, also they will tell you how much it will cost. Good luck.

Most vets like to spay female cats around 6 months of age. Some may do it earlier like 4 months. Male cats usually are neutered at around 6-8 months depending on how they are developing. Just in case you or anyone else is curious. The best thing to do would be to call your local vets and see at what age they like to do the surgery then decide which you are comfortable with. Make sure your cats are vaccinated too because most vets won't do the surgery until they are.

Before her first heat, there's really no need to wait until 6 months, usually if a vet wants that then they are just old fashioned in thier ways. Many cats can go into heat before 6 months. Find someone who does pediatric spay and neuter and get it done now, she's old enough and they usually heal better and faster than if they were older.

Most vets will spay your cat at 4 months old. This depends on the vet, ideally 6 mos. is an age at which dogs and cats are spayed/neutered.
Thank you for being a responsible person. Hugs to you!!

It seems to me that you would want to spay you kitten at 6months. I know when we neutered are two cats they were suppose to be 6 months of age, and we would take a greater chance of them spraying the house if we waited any longer than this. Good luck, kavier

You are supposed to get a cat spayed as soon as possible, so it won't have kittens while you are waiting to get it spayed.
