I hate decorating for Xmas. A few years ago I nearly killed myself while on a ladder and now I only decorate the lowest eaves of my house with lights. Any suggestions on decorating without climbing 30 feet high to my roof?

For the second floor of a home (or higher), what about placing battery operated candles on the inside of each window. The candles give a home a classy look from the outside. And the only thing you would have to climb is the stairs to leading to the second floor!

I always have enjoyed decorating the outside of my home for the holidays. I think the best bet is to do all white lights. If you just do the bushes and maybe the walkway you will be extremely happy. I always try to stay away from those light up figurines and blow-ups. If you use wreaths and materials of the same, mix them with the lights. This will create a great day and night look.

If you have lights on the lower eaves of the house, it should be enough lights. You could get some lawn decorations or window deco. Get some lights those candycane type to line your sidewalk if you have a walk. It you have any out door bushes or small trees, put some bulbs on them they don't have to be electric. That should be plenty.

If you don't have a pet, get tinsel to decorate walls, figures and banisters. Pets could die from it, so be careful. Get Christmas ribbons and streamers, and maybe go to WalMart or something to pick out some ornaments from the seasonal section. It'll be easy!

Just do your windows, porch and door. You might also do something down your walkway. You say you hate decorating for Christmas. Look at this site and think what those men must feel like after they are finished,....http://www.uglychristmaslights.com
