Lets start with Paul, who said, "One man considers one day more sacred than another; another man considers each day alike. Each one should be fully convinced in his own mind. He who regards one day as special, does so to the Lord..." Romans 14:5-6)

The only law in the Ten Commandments concerning the Sabbath was to "keep it holy" and "not do any work". However, people began adding their own tradition, about how far they can walk, etc, trying to define what "work" meant.

Jesus ended up saying, "If any of you has a sheep and it falls intoa pit on the Sabbath, will you not take hold of it and lift out? How much more valuable is a man than a sheep! Therefore it is lawful to do good on the Sabbath" (Matthew 12:11-12)

Now, is going to church not "good"? Do you seriously think God will be upset if we go to church on Sunday? A lot of the Biblical laws are by tradition, meaning they were not imposed by God they were imposed by people.

What I find ironic though is that many Christians blame the Catholic Church for "moving the Sabbath to Sunday". However most Catholic churches have services every single day. I always say, "Why give God just one day and go to church on just one day?" Every day should be used for righteousness.

A lot of the Biblical laws found in the Old Testament do not lead to true righteousness. (Galatians 3:24-25) Thats why many of them are irrelevant. If you want to follow them you can, (Romans 14:3) but sanctification is not found by what you eat, what days you work, how you wash your hands, etc.

Because the saturday Sabbath is a tradition of the Jews, not of Christians, and the Jews do in fact follow that practice today. The Bible clearly states that the early Christian church met "on the first day of the week" for the celebration of the worship Jesus instituted at the Last Supper. The Apostles identified Sunday as the day of Christian worship because it was more fitting to worship the risen Lord on the day of His glorious Resurrection than on the day He lay dead in the tomb.

The first Christians were Jews and they observed the Sabbath on Saturday, but as more non-Jews became Christians, they decided to distance themselves from Jewish practices. Rome changed the day of worship from Saturday to Sunday to differentiate from the Jewish Sabbath, because anti-Jewish sentiments had been growing in the Church since the second century when most Christians were non-Jews.

Show me where the Bible talks about going to church on the Sabbath and show me where it says the Sabbath is on saturday. The Bible says (Exodus 20:8) Remember the Sabbath day by keeping it holy.

It does not say anything about church and it doesn't say anything about saturday. So why not go to church on sunday? Why not go to church every day? It doesn't matter. Why not keep every day holy and not just one day a week?

Because that's the day when Jesus rose again. Originally the Sabbath day was Saturday, but when Jesus rose from the dead on a Sunday, I guess we just changed it. I don't think it really matters what day church is as long as we try to attend regularly.

The Church (i.e., filled with the Holy Spirit at Pentecost, and in Council with all of the Bishops of the Church) decided at Nicea in 325 A.D. that Sunday, being the Lord's Day - in commemoration of Jesus Resurrection on a Sunday - was the proper day for worship.

The original sabbath was sunday. But afterJesus death and Resurrection the new sabbath was established as the day of the Resurrection.

There is a verse in scripture where Jesus says that HE is our sabbath rest.

It comes down to the advent of Jesus Christ. In the Old Testament they followed a shadow. It pointed to Christ's coming. When Christ came, we don't follow the shadow but the thing that cast the shadow...Jesus Himself. Jesus is not a specific day, it's every day. Every day is sabbath rest in Christ. When there is a change of the priesthood, there is a change of the law according to the scriptures. We are no longer under the law but under grace.
