I know I'm not supposed to touch them but when i do they feel like bruises. And I have about a thousand of them on my face right now.

Its not the pimple itself that hurts so much as the inflammations associated w/ the pimple. If you had the pimple w/o the inflammation it would not hurt. So if you can control the inflammation, your pimple will not hurt. You can do this by using a spot treatment if the pimples are isolated or using a lotion/serum that has soothing and anti-inflammatory ingredients. Make sure you buy quality stuff.

Pimples hurt because it's an infection. Just like any wound that gets infected, there is a lot of swelling, redness, and with that comes the pain.
In many cases of severe acne, it is sometimes advisable to take oral antibiotics of tetracycline or doxycycline, to kill the germs and too soften the oil that gets stuck under the skin.
Of course, topical antiacne is also very important. I have the best experience with topical retinoic acid or vitamin a creams. they seem to dry up the pimples quite fast

I am a dermatologist by profession and within a careeer of 10 years I have seen lots of acne problems. According to me Red and white pimples are the worst and painful. Acneprone skin is very sensitive, even if you touch it once the redness will increase with itching. According to me there is no magical way to heal your pimples over night as this is the puffed part of your skin due to the bacteria.
