You're not supposed to Point at any ball in Snooker.You should be trying to pot it.

There are fifteen red balls and they are worth 1 point each, then there is the Yellow 2 points, Green 3points, Brown 4 points, Blue 5 points, Pink 6 points and the Black 7 points. Now after you pot a Red ball you must pot a colour ball then another red and then another colour until you miss then it is your opponents turn and he has to do the same. Total points available 147, made up by 15 reds and all the colours.

If potted in its turn or when nominated after potting a red then it is worth 2 points. If hit or potted out of turn, (by mistake), it is worth from 4pts to 7. 4pts if trying to hit or pot the brown. 5pts if the blue, 6pts if the pink and seven if trying to hit or pot the black. The yellow can also be worth 1pt if nominated after a foul and you are snookered on any remaining reds and it is red to be played.

The yellow is worth 2 points for potting it (when you're meant to).
A foul on the yellow is 4 points (minimum foul).
Potting green is 3 (4 for a foul)
Potting brown is 4 (4 for a foul)
Potting blue is 5 (5 for a foul)
Potting pink is 6 (6 for a foul)
Potting black is 7 (7 for a foul)
