Let me start by saying you do not have to believe in God or be religious to be respectful... So let's try to display a little respect for all people and their religions, honest answers only please.
This is a hypothetical question...
Do you think if everyone in the world who believes in God (what ever your idea of God is) would come together on one accord and agree that there is only one God and prayed to that one that all of these problems that people think should be solvable through prayer would be resolved. Hunger, homelessness, violence, murder, war etc.
Because if you think about it hypothetically speaking if there is truly one God how can he answer the prayers of billions of people on one targeted issue when everyone is praying to a different God, Deity, or Spiritual Being?
It's just a question and not an attempt at conversion so serious answers please.

Excuse me for being an open minded person who thought i was asking a question to people who were open minded and could for once think outside the box, instead of just trying to push their views. All I expected people to do was say either yes may be, or no, or I agree or disagree,

I wish this could be the case, but I think a good number of people of various paths are more interested in being "right" than cooperating with anyone else, and have painted anyone different as "evil."

As and agnostic Buddhist, I believe that we should be actively trying to help others than praying to a god...
“I think by now I have made it fairly clear that I am not very happy with the word "hope." I don't believe in people just hoping. We work for what we want. I always say that one has no right to hope without endeavor, so we work to try and bring about the situation that is necessary for the country, and we are confident that we will get to the negotiation table at one time or another. This is the way all such situations pan out— even with the most truculent dictator.

this does not make sence God may respond to any prayers he will answer those who pray sincerely.

First off, I thank you for your call for respect for all people but let me say that it is not the same as having respect for all religions and if you don't mind me saying that that is the root of the problem with your hypothsis.
Hypothetically speaking, if there is truly one God then we had better find out who He is and start praying to Him. I suggest it may well be that He (God) will not answer prayers that are not addressed to Him. The fundemental question then that we must all address is "What is His Address, What is the one true identity of God"?
The one true God has revealed His unique identity to us all through His Son, our Lord and Saviour, Christ Jesus, He is "the way the truth and the life" and no one can come to God any other way.

Right off the bat your "proposal" has a big problem: there are literally MILLIONS of people who believe in multiple gods. You telling them to all come together and agree there is only one god already means they have to abandon their beliefs in favor of someone else's belief -- and, people being what they are, they won't do that...in fact they'll probably fight to the death to keep from doing that.
I have a better hypothetical for you: there is no god, and since there isn't nobody's prayers are answered. How about we all abandon this ancient superstition of praying to gods that don't exist, and instead work together to solve the world's problems without worrying about whose god is the right one (since none of them even exist)? That would direct everyone's efforts towards a common goal, improving humanity, rather than the common goal being further ignorance, superstition, and belief in false myths.

There is only one God.He is the God of the universe. Then there is the god(little G) of this world. He is the one that every false religion prays to.The Bible says he is the god of this world, the principality of the power of the air,a roaring lion,an angel of light, the dragon, the serpent, the beast,anti-christ,etc.
Just because people pray for something & it happens doesn't mean that God made it happen.Like some are now saying that God & Allah are the same. This is not true because Allah said "I have no son".God had Jesus Christ who is the son of God or the very image of Him.Jesus is God.

The simple fact is, people have been unable to agree on the true nature of God.
That's the reason for all the different world religions.
It's very unlikely anything will be done to resolve the issue until the true God finally returns and triumphantly declares himself.

Well Alicia i don't think this Hypothesis would ever work....even if you beleive God, ther are still some believes left that will keep peoples get arguing on and on....You know basically everyone(believers) beleive in God.....fight is for other believes...But its not the religion which is responsible for hunger, homelessness, violence and murder.its politics responsible for all these things.and again its the politics which keep religous group fighting...because politics only works on 'divide and rule'.... so even if religons get togather and they unite then too one has to get the politics correct to solve the problem...and after getting politics correct we ,ll need to get our religous believe correct , no religon teaches killings, its just misinterpretation of religion which get the peoples working on that track.....so much more is needed along with peace of all religion then this hypothesis canbe proved correct.

I think you answered the question yourself by saying "whatever your idea of god is". If everyone has their own idea of who God is, instead of who God says he is, then all gods are necessarily different and incompatible. If all the religions in the world are worshipping the same god, then the universe is a cosmic madhouse, because they all contradict one another.
