of course not. The bible was written by man, so it is fallable. Then you have the fact that it was written thousands of years ago in Aramaic, it has since been translated and re written millions of times. Nobody actually knows what the original scripts stated. It was inspired by God, but not his wording. It wasn't even the word of Jesus Christ, which is popular belief.
I am a Christian, but I don't need a book to tell me what is right and wrong.

The Bible is the truth when it is an accurate translation.
Just because something looks like a contradiction to you does not mean that it is. It just means that you don't understand it. You probably went to a website that lists Bible quotes out of context and never read the Bible for yourself.
I disagree with Josh below me. True Christianity is based on faith AND reason. This is most true in the doctrines of the Catholic Church.
Read the Catechism of the Catholic Church if you want to understand the Bible. But I have a feeling that you want to remain ignorant because that seems to be the way of the world today.

Possibly the best thing about the Christin religion is that they can live by their own bible the New Testament, until a 'dodgey' type of question arises, then they can revert to the original Old Testament , between the two bibles they can 'translate' some part to actually 'prove' what they believe is true.
I wonder how they get around the 'Thou shalt not kill' bit?
Sorry I asked that now because chapter so and so verse such and such, clearly explains all that, what a mug I am!!!!

This is a pointless excercise: your quotations are out of historical order and out of sequence and context!
The bible is a collection of books including history, hymns, prophecy (politics, often) fiction, legislation; apocalyptic literature, and most of the Old Testament was kept in two collections - the Northern and Southern Kingdoms of Israel and recorded rather differently. SO you'll find two pseudonymns for God; two creation stories etc.
You really need to study with an expert. For our times the important thing is to read the Four Gospels of the New Testament and learn that God loves you; gives you everlasting life as a gift if you accept it....and that you try with His help to live better because of that gift. OK?

Genesis one is about his contentment with what HE had done....
Genesis 6:6 is about his discontentment at what MANKIND had done to his creation.
2. God dwells in temples...(Shekinah glory was once in the temple in the "Holy of Holies".
God moved from that place and into the hearts of the believers. New Temple situation. And it will change again some day.
3.1Kings verse, the darkness refered to the dark cloud the Spirit of the living God was in in the temple. psam verse talks about him hiding himself in darkness when he came down from heaven. Not his residence, just what he surrounded himself with. It can be translated also as a dark cloud. He has been written of many times with a dark cloud to cover himself for OUR protection. The second psalm verse can also be translated as a dark cloud. Again talking about Him surrounding Himself with a dark cloud to cover his glory.
The Tim 6:16 talks about him dwelling in the light that no man can approach, that is the light emmitting from him.
I'm not going to really answer a huge list because I can see your not really interested in context and don't really read what you post. To deliberately try to convince people that there are problems with these verses to me seems dishonest. If you can't approach it honestly, then why bother asking the question?

These so-called contradictions are easily resolved with a little careful reading in context. No. 5 for instance, "rest" means ' to stop" as a moving object comes to rest. The Bible, being the inspired Word of God, is perfect for it's purpose.

A paradox such as this demands a response. One can admit to oneself, well I do not quite understand so I shall have closer look at the matter until I do.
I am a Christian. God teaches me from the Bible many wonderful things. Jesus is truly the light of the world. It is this light that gives life and understanding.

When you read the Holy Bible, you need to have the Spirit of Truth to enlighten things in your spirit. The Anointing that is given to each child born into the Kingdom of God (1 John 2:27).
I read with the Holy Spirit / Spirit of Truth. When I first came back to God, the Holy Spirit drenched me when the Pastor prayed over me. The Holy Spirit directed me to toss out a Mormon book and had me read this verse in a book that my mother n law gave me. The Holy Spirit assured me that all I need is the Holy Spirit to lead me into all truth and to discern false doctrines.
So? I can easily answer the verses you question. I guess to start is to realize God is a Trinity. Elohim / God the Father, Word & Holy Spirit. Elohim said, "Let us make mankind in our image." And Elohim made man & woman in the image of God. So we must be a trinity also. Body, soul & spirit.
Adam died spiritually when he rebelled. With spiritual death is spiritual blindness. Our sins have separated us from God. The wages of sin is death. Jesus said that to see the Kingdom of God we need to be born again. That is spiritual rebirth and restored in relationship with God. Made whole again.
Also understanding Gods trinity, Jesus was before Abraham was. He is the Word part of Elohim. When people did see or hear God in old testament, it was the Word Part in a human body. The ancient of Days visualized in Daniel and Revelation is Jesus and is human shaped. The Word of God came from Heaven to earth to show us the Way. He put on humanity, born of a virgin without sin nature (like the first Adam); and dwelt among us. The Father God is Greater & too bright & too strong for us to visualize or see. The Word of God / Logos / was in the beginning with God and is God. The Word of God is the Human Shape of God in the old and new testaments. The Holy Spirit is the form of a Spiritual Dove or the flame of the anointed vessles of God (Pentacost). God / Elohim is One / United and agree always.
God never has accepted human sacrifices. He gave His Only Begotten Son, and that no other sacrifice will cleanse us of our sins. So, all other human sacrifices are done away with. It is just murder. When Father Abraham was willing to Sacrifice his only Son of promise, he knew God would raise him up, & fulfill His promise. God said, "I will Provide.". Isaac wasn't sinless, so also could not atone for the sins of the world. God provided His Only Begotten Son.
The Old Testament has Gods judgment and the sin of murder consequence is life for life.
The law came by Moses, and Truth & Grace by Jesus Christ. The Christian Convert isn't under the law of sin and death, but under Grace of God. It is the New Covenant available to all from every nation & tongue.
Also, Jesus is the Reason. The Logos of God is the Reason why we are even here as people on a earth.

No one and nothing is perfect but God. all quotes must be taken in context. there you mix up quotes from 1000s of years before Jesus to those after his death.

You attack the Bible, however, Christianity is a religion based on faith not reason. God is unfathomable. Our human brains are incapable of understanding him.
