Do you ever realize the importance of center of our forehead!
As per Indian traditions there are three things to apply on your forehead.
A saint or a sage would apply ashes... rather smear ashes on his forehead. This is indicative of the peace... the calm pervading the thoughtful nature of the sage. It is believed by the Saints that smearing ashes on the forehead (and sometimes on the complete head) provides a sense of serenity much required to proceed on the spiritual path.
Religious persons apply a tikka on their forehead after having a bath and before going to the temple. This gave them a feeling of peace within... a sense of belonging to god!
Indian ladies apply a Bindi in the centre of their forehead. This round object has gum on its back for sticking it on the forehead. The normal colour of the Bindi is red and Bindi is worn by every married Lady in India.
In Hinduism it is a considered fact that the centre of the forehead is the seat of the Wisdom. And to keep reminding every human being that the ultimate goal of every human being is gaining wisdom and finally salvation (moksha in Hinduism).
This dormant energy lies unawakened at the base of the spine of every human being. The moment this energy is lifted up to the level of Bindi... the centre of a forehead... it releases and one finally gains enlightenment and then reaches the stage of salvation (moksha). Awakening of the kundalini which leads a spiritual seeker towards enlightenment and finally reaching that stage of salvation indicates that the dormant energy within the human being has been released. sounds like he had a scrap with another cat, the wound scabbed over and now dropped off. If it looks pale pink to white the fur will grow back again in due course. Even if he didnt have a scab chances are it was pulled out during a scuffle. Owner of a big tom with his 3 legged, six toed psycho mum!
