Dogs of the working class would likely have the most muscle and power as they were bread to pull, protect, and work long hours.

There are a lot of breeds that would fit that description. It really depends on what you want the dog for...Mastiffs are strong and mostly muscle, they're also a gentle breed. Huskys and Malemutes are very strong dogs with a lot of endurance and ability to pull large loads. Pit Bulls are strong and muscular dogs although if not trained right they display a lot of aggression. Also a Maltese (a toy breed) is pound for pound one of the strongest dogs, only in a very small package!! So again,it really depends on what you are looking for.

A muscular dog, it is considered, for its weight, the strongest of all dogs. It has a short coat, tapering tail, erect ears, and deep-set eyes. It stands 19–22 in. (48–56 cm) high and weighs 50–60 lbs (23–27 kg). There are two varieties, coloured and white./
