You may want to try the Mary Kay Satin Hands set. It's a three step set that helps keep hands in perfect condition year round. I recommend using all three steps once a day and then just applying the lotion throughout the day as needed. It's great stuff and I have free samples available!

I have to same trouble with chapped hands. Try using Burt's Bees Hand Salve, or their Almond beeswax hand cream, and then putting on a pair of cotton gloves at bedtime. Or you could use some Vaseline if you prefer. Also, try to find a good hand soap at a natural food store. I've used the Jason brand before which seemed pretty good. Or Nature's Gate is pretty good too. You might have to try a few different ones to find one the really works for you. The same goes for hand lotion. Not all lotion works the same for everybody. I've used some lotions that actually make my hands worse. But I would definitely recommend Burt's Bees or Aubrey Organics brand lotions, because they are all natural with pure ingredients and no chemicals. Something else I try to do at least once a week is a scrub. I just mix some brown sugar with olive oil, and scrub my hands with it, then rinse. The sugar helps slough off dead skin, and the olive oil moisturizes. You could do this everyday if you wanted, like before bed and then apply a cream and gloves. Good luck! I know chapped hands are no fun.

Hello,
What always works for me (I too wash my hands all day long), is - at bedtime, I rub a little neosporine on the cracks in my hands, then I slather them in vasaline. Then I put socks on my hands. In the morning, I take the socks off and my hands are smooth and started healing. I do this every night until they heal up well, then as maintenance once or twice a week. AND - very important, your dry hands could be a sign that you are dehydrated. Drink extra liquids during the day to help moisturize from the inside out.
Good luck!

This time of the year is the worst for chapped hands. Where the skin around your cuticles seem to turn into tissue paper that painfully tears apart with the slightest provocation. I've found that soaking my hands in very warm, almost hot water for a couple of minutes...lets my skin absorb moisture, then I dip two fingers into vaseline and rub my hands together under warm water as though I am washing them. Blot them dry ...and go about my biz.

Anything alcohol free. Something you know won't dry your hands out. Use some Dove soap in you can, and do try to change you lotion so something else. You could be using the wrong kind of lotion for you.

Alcohol free soaps are the BEST to use.
Also, each night after a HOT shower, put excessive amounts of lotion on your hands and then place cotton gloves on for as long as you can.
This is going to help absorb into the skin, and keep them softer, longer!

A teacher at school used to put vaseline, then rubber gloves (the surgical kind) on my son's hands-it helped a lot. Not all day-just for a couple hours a day.
