She is an 8 year old Lhasa Apso, and just this past week she has begun following me around with some of her toys while crying. She won't eat, and is peeing a lot. The week before I was on vacation and i spent a lot of time with her and she was fine. What's wrong with her?

I have a Jack Russel that went through the same thing. Every six months or so she would start crying and caring around her white stuffed pig. After this happened a couple times I took her to the vet and was told that she was going through a false pregnancy. Where she thinks her toys are her babies and she even tried to curl it up against her stomach and nurse it. This will go away but there is a medication that you can get. Oh yeah mine had to go outside all the time. She thought she had to pee but she never really would. I hope this info helps.

is she spayed?...if not, it may be pregnancy unless there is no possible way she could be pregnant...but its really hard without more description. Maybe bladder stones...which cause lots of pain in the abdomen...or constipation...try pumpkin pie filling...or sweet potatoes boiled and mashded with alittle milk in it...those will help her bowels start to move within 24 hours. Only give her about 1tbsp every 6-8 hours for 24 hours. If that doesn't work i would take her to a vet. Goodluck!

It sounds as if she really missed you and is trying trying to get your attention. IE bringing you toys as a prize to you or trying to encourage you to play with her. Not eating cuz she's depressed.

The peeing can be her acting out her anger with you for leaving, but at her age I would take her to the vet and confirm she doesn't have a health related issue causing her to not control her bladder.

She may be suffering seperation anxiety? bladder infection? having a season? a phantom pregnancy?

Take her to the vets for a check up to rule out any health issues.

She really needs to get to the vet for a check up - she could have a bladder infection -given she's getting older, you need to get it checked out now - problems are so much easier to treat if you get them early.

Maybe someone hit it on the head while you were gone and it has brain damage now.
