You mean the Oracle of Delphi?
When they were touring they had to excavate so that they could make room from vehicles to get in there for the new tourist attraction. When they broke through the cavern they found large traces of Methane gases and such...
It is believed that there were much higher amounts of these gases and that the Oracle was probably "stoned" when giving advice concerning the pagan gods of the Greeks.
