Not far as they are actually the same company. They share the same gate space in many airports, I'd imagine LAS would be one of them.

That's right they share gates at LAS...even have duplicate flights to same destination usually the American West flight departs 15 min prior than tha US Airways flight...or some flights have a flight number from both airlines traveling to same destination

Since HP bought out US, and the merger. All the US hubs, and the HP hubs are one now. So, US Airways is in the same terminal, and the same gate location. I'm not sure about LAS, but PHX, were all in 4.
