God can do whatever He wants. We all deserve hell. But it is out of His grace that he saves us- because He wants to. He suffered for us, when He could of just let us all perish. We have all sinned and His justice would of been to send us ALL to hell. So yes HE is indeed VERY Just- in that He will judge each accordingly- BUT He has also given those who believe in Him freedom through Jesus Christ- eternal life in Heaven. And that is an awesome gift. It is free! So those who do not accept it- will be held accountable. God will remain Just forever.

God would be just no matter what He decided. He could have punished us by making us all worms and would have been just. He's God. I think sometimes people have a problem with "minimizing". They minimize their sin and assume it should be forgiven or that it wasn't "that bad". Or they minimize what God has done on the cross and say, "yes Jesus died for all sins, but murder and lying and stealing are part of the nasty nine and the dirty dozen. If you do those you can't get into heaven". Our scales are skewed and I think humanity cannot see justice as God sees it.

Since it's God's fault that Adam ate of the fruit, it would not be just if God did not own up to his mistake.

Although, I will say that God would fair if he saved no one. As long as he dished out the punishment evenly, then fairness would not be a factor.

But, "just" is a human concept, and we cannot logically view God as just.

Edit: Hope, your additional detail confuses me. Why would I want to change my title? It's accurate and catchy.

Just because I recognize the God of the Old Testament as a mean bastard doesn't mean I can't teach about him. The Bible portrays God as jealous. Such an emotion precludes someone from being just. It is logically impossible.

I know that some bleeding hearts will try to paint God as just, but if you follow the Bible, then you can see that God is anything but just. He is a fearful god that demands worship on pain of death.

So, I suppose the answer to your question can be more succinctly put as: "Since God wasn't just in the first place, he still would not be just if he decided to save no one."

Just because I call it as I see it doesn't give you the right to try to rename people at random.

She is always just. However, what we really need saving from is ourselves.

Do you really think that the source of everything couldn't come up with a better plan than blood sacrifice? You should read up on the real origin of your faith. For starters I would recommend the Pagan Origins of the Christ Myth. Heaven, hell, baptism, salvation, eucharist (lord's supper), virgin births and many other things were in existance long before your bible co-opted them. Christianity is an ancient pagan religion in new clothes. God and Goddess do not need to save us. They are us. The link below will get you started on learning....really learning about your religion.

Well, this would be the ultimate conundrum, wouldn't it?
Personally, I don't assign a gender to God. In the Judao-Christian sense of God, "HE" is used either conveniently or as a matter of regarding God as a male entity. Using the biblical account of the creation as a starting point, why would God create a world and populate it with a species in His image and likeness and then abandon it and them? Unless He is one cruel omnipotent dude!
So, No God would NOT save anyone. He has left salvation up to the choice of His individual creations. We have been given the guidelines, so its our choice to accept or reject salvation. It is also our choice to live with the results of that choice.

God would still be just.

He decided to save mankind because of His love for us and His grace.

Grace is an unmerited favour from God.

Absolutely! God's justice is one of His defining attributes. His justice demands perfection and obedience, yet we have all fallen short of God's glory, sinning daily, and offending a holy God.

Yet, in His mercy, He has given us grace (unmerited favor) when we receive the pardon given through His Son. But, as others have already said, He owes us nothing, and we owe Him everything.

Unfortunately for us, yes. He defines 'Justice'. He alone is responsible for His actions and is accountable to no one. What He decrees, is law. No matter what we think. But, He has made promises, and Kept His word. We are safe. Those who choose the uphill climb and not the easy, downhill slide.

Dear Hope,

Yes, God (Jesus Christ) would be Just even if He sent ALL makind to hell. None of us is deserving of His amazing grace. That is why we should be thankful to God that He is merciful.

geesh, great question....I would have to say yes, since none of us deserve grace by definition of the word grace. Hell is our "just" reward and death is the wages of sin. God did what He did out of love, not obligation.
