After they've grown beyond the stage of feeding from their mother it is absolutely okay to feed them dry food only and in fact it is better for their dental hygiene to. Of course spend the time and money to get a good quality puppy food. In most cases you'll need to transition your puppy from puppy food to adult as the appriopriate age. I feed my two boys Innova Evo, it is an all life stages dry kibble with no grain. Therefore I don't need to switch from puppy to adult to senior food and since grains are just empty fillers to make the dog full not nutrients you'll benefit from your dog having less to void and alot of dogs have grains allergies so you won't have that issue with this line of food as it is made of meats and vegetables only. Here's the manufacturer's website for Innova Evo http://www.naturapet.com/display.php?d=product-detail&pxsl=%2F%2Fproduct%5B@id%3D%271246%27%5D They also have a red meat version, and reduced fat.

Someone earlier said to not to and mix milk in with the dry.. DO NOT give regular milk to dogs... most dogs are lactose intolerate and it could make them sick to various stages. IE diarrhea, vomiting, worse...

If your puppies are weaned from the mom then if is fine to feed dry food and it is actually better for them. Also,as long as they aren't developing any teeth problems. Dry food keep tarter build up down because dry dog food is rougher against the teeth so it has a slight bruching action. Can food is soft and sticky and will stick to the teeth. On puppys try to get a food that comes in small bites since they have such small mouths. This way they won't have to work as hard at eating it. I highly recommend Science Diet Puppy Small Bites. They should stay on puppy food for up to a year of age then start feeding them adult food. Also you don't want to have to worry about mixing there food up with can and dry all the time. Can food sometimes is harder on there digestive system too. They can get upset stomachs and diarehia and you definalty don't want that.

Well it very much depends on the age;
If it's just been weaned, I'd give it dry puppy food, but pour a bit of boiling water over it to soften it up. But I'd say that from 10-12 weeks on it can have dry puppy food without soaking it.
Dry food is better for their teeth and bowls/stomachs, and it has less salt, which is better for their kidneys. Dogs that have always had dry food will be less likely to have fussy stomachs when they get older, and will also be less likely to pass wind, have diarrhoea, or bad breath.
Always feed puppy´s puppy food though until they are a year old, then mix puppy and adult food for a few weeks before changing over to adult food altogether.

Yes, although read the instructions on the package from the manufacturer. Many recommend that you add a little water to help a puppy under 12 weeks eat the dry food. You will also notice that the complete food made especially for puppies is made up of smaller biscuits to make it easier for them to eat.

Don't listen to the first answer yes you can feed your puppy on just complete dry food as the label is quite self explanatory it is COMPLETE food. As long as the puppy is at the right age to be eating solids, you should soak it at first with hot water then let it cool obviously or you can give it dry but make sure they are not bolting it or they can choke. It must be designed for puppy's and they should have ample water supply. Also as soon as you add anything to complete food like meat etc then your messing up the nutritional value off the food. If in doubt ask a vet or reputable breeder. I feed my 8 month old on Eukanuba puppy food and my 9 week old on Autarky dry puppy food you can feed it wet or just as it is and It is all natural. I feed two different types because the breeder suggested I keep them both on what they are used to so to not mess up their digestive system when I got my 1st bully she was feeding them Eukanuba and when we got our Bully boy she had since discovered Autarky food which is cheaper but still as good for them.
I was soaking my 9 week old pups food untill he became loose I was actually over doing it with his fluid intake, he drinks really well and to be honest he seems to prefer the biscuits dry and he doesn't get too bloated on them. And it's better for their teeth.
I spoke to my vet and his breeder and they both gave the same advise.

If the puppy is just weaned mix warm water to the dry food to help them chew. As they used to eating the wet food you can start putting dry food out with out water. I would never feed my animal can food. It is not good for their teeth. Always feed a reputable brand of feed.

The problem isn't that the puppy's can't eat dry food, the problem is that they normally will not drink enough when they do.
So always mix their dry food with a liquid just to make sure that they are getting enough fluids as well as food.

Check the labels for age range but it should be ok if its a puppy food. Its always best to soften it up with hot water then let it cool down. Good luck

Keep your puppy on puppy food until it is at least 1 year old because Puppy food has more nutrients in it then adult food

No I really think this complete dried food stuff is no good for them ,how many times do we sit down to a meal and say it's too dry without gravy etc therefore it's the same for dogs and cats
