I have this great old classic 1986 Lincoln Town Car. I've run ads to sell it but haven't really got any hits. It needs work if it's going to stay in running order, which brings down the cost anyone would want to pay for it. But there is a ton of stuff on it that is worth something piece by piece (leather seats in perfect condition, for example). Is it possible for me to sell out the parts myself, or do I have to be able to take them off the car and deliver them to a shop to do that? Any advice would be helpful and very much appreciated!

Side note: Here is the ad I am currently running on craigslist just trying to trade the car for anything else. It's got pictures, so maybe someone can tell me if this looks like it's worth anything.

car is 20 yrs old, big, drinks gas.....totally unpopular in todays world.

about all you can do in hopes to gain some cash from it is to part it out. no need for a shop or anything....just put on your ad's that you are willing to part it out.

plus might help to take pics of stuff and list it on ebay to hit a wider selection of people. list the seats, carburator, tail lights, turn signals, gauges, radio, a/c controls, power window/door lock units, etc.

First off the car is really clean, but it is not a classic and probably won't be for another 20 years. classic is classified in 1973 and older. Even though the car looks nice you probably won't get more than 1500 bucks out of it. If you wan't to sell parts out of it run an ad stating parts car parts starting off as low as 10.00 or somthing like that. Also put it on ebay with no reserve. Putt it in low that way you don't have to pay them much and have buddy run up the price and stop then the betting will begain

you can make quite a bit selling out the parts, yes u have to disassemble your self u you don't want a bill for each part, removal often costs more than the part. make sure to use an engine lift for all heavy parts, (you can borrow or rent one) and have some one mechanically inclined help you so you don't strip or damage any thing and more importantly injure your self.
you can unload stuff on craigslist, eBay, and cars.com. and I'm sure there is many other places to list parts out there to get rid of stuff including mustang and T-bird magazines cause its the same engine and that was a popular decade for mustangs and T-birds. . also you can get money by turning things in like brake cores to the brake shop (they buy those back).
that engine is known for being a fast engine so if you can bare it down and clean it up you can usually get good money for them, people drop them into all kinds of stuff from boats to project cars.
