Well I would say that 95% of xtians are indignant and judgMENTAL and that they do enjoy it. The psychological reasons could be many, but my opinion is that it is a self esteem issue. Their religion teaches them that they are but filthy rags without jesus' blood, that all humans are flawed and evil at their core, that we have no hope in ourselves. To take the indignant and judgmental stance is to distance themselves from the truth that they are still filthy rags like the rest of us and that no one has the truth for everyone. They hope they are right and defending it....even with skewed perceptions and false data...makes them feel better. It is simple ego. My grandma used to say that only 3 things motivate man: fear, money and lovin'. Xtianity has the market on fear, they try to stop the lovin' and make it sinful, and they want your money. It is an MLM - multi level marketing scam and is the only industry where the consumers blame themselves when the product is never delievered.

Just as much as others enjoy being indignant and judgemental. The psychological reason being that if one disagrees with someone else, it is natural for them to lash out (as is the purpose of your question). If someone believes they are living correctly, it is only logical to assume that other people might get some good out of living the same way. Christians aren't the only ones who act this way (and indeed, many of them don't) but there are certain other groups that do as well...though I won't name them. That would be judgemental.

I am not being indignant or judgemental to request that you afford me the same respect that you yourself would like shown to you. I will not call you a heathen or stupid atheist and so I do not appreciate being called an Xtian when Christ is the whole reason for the title...not X. I simply expect you to be respectful and since you have shown by the last few questions that you cannot do so, I will disengage from this conversation and leave it to those who have no issue with the disrespect you show them. Good day, sir.

Christianity was meant to be loving and inclusive, sadly many so called Christians on here are in fact extremists and zealots and totally unrepresentative of true Christianity. In being so indignant and judgemental they drive not only non believers from listening to the word but also deeply embarrass good Christians into leaving the church!
These people are simply feeding their own egos!

it's part of their "us vs them" mentality. anyone not in their collective is a target for dire judgments and hell mongering conversion tactics. Fundy Christians tend to attack nonChristians and then get self righteously indignant when their targets respond in kind. they look upon the hostilities they provoke as "persecution" and Fundy Christians do so enjoy the "persecution" they invoke because it's indicates to them that they have THE TRUTH that is being rejected as per a Jesus prophesy.
PS. fer sure not ALL Christians do this but ALL Fundy Christians do.

I think that you are referring to the fundamentalist fanatics.
There are many intelligent, open minded Christians. Even on here.
In my opinion, the problem is the book. Many Christians use the bible as justification to spread hate and bigotry. Just read Corinthians 1. That one book is so full of hate and judgment they have ammunition from now through eternity.
Not all Christians buy into the cow manure of the bible.

Your catagorizing and that's not fair. All Christians are not indignant and judgemental....some are some aren't. Besides who cares what someone says about you or if someone is judging you. Life is too short to care what other people think.

Your statement is judging Christians declaring them to be judgmental and indignant. Why can you be this way yet say its wrong for others?

Do atheist ENJOY being angry and close-minded? What are the psychological reasons for this?
Have any other Christians noticed this trait?
