Since I do not like ham and am not a big fan of turkey, my mom and I have begun the new tradition of making Prime Rib for our Christmas dinner. One advantage to this that we were unaware of until we decided to do this a couple of years ago is that prime rib roasts are usually on sale right before Christmas. For more on how to purchase and cook it, see the website below:

I roast a chicken or make a special pork chop dish.
I don't like ham and I haven't had a long enough break from Thanksgiving turkey yet.

In Germany, we eat the traditional Carp if Christmas falls on a Friday.
Fashinable is potato salad with wieners - because it makes the fewest work on christmas eve so you have more time for enjoying the holidays.

Oh yea! This is going to sound weird, but its a family tradition on my dad's side to all get together on c hristmas eve. My uncle makes the best cream ofbroccoli soup, and my gram makes these home made meatballs, and we all have meatball grinders. My mom makes a chocolate truffle for dessert, and my aunt brings the ordeurves (pigs in a blanket, yum!) I know it sounds weird, but thats what we doe every christmas eve! Its great! and delicious.
