Take your cat to the vet, you haven't said if it's an outside cat or if it has all of it's shots. I'm hoping for your sake it's just a flu or cold cats get them just like we do. But if your cat has been sick for more than 24 hours take it to a vet. If you can't afford a vet call or look up on the internet Animal Love sites or PETA sites and get as much iformation as you can, maybe you'll be able to find a vet that does some bro bono. Good luck, it's horrible when your cat is sick.

I think a vet examination is definitely in order. Next week at the very latest.

I wish people with animals would keep a bottle of Rescue Remedy around the house for this type of situation. You can get it at a health food store and just shake the bottle well and put three to four drops on the fur between his ears. Right now it could help him relax, minimize any pain he is having, and make him feel better till he goes to the vet. Treat him many times with it during the day and before retiring for the night. It cannot harm him in any way. It is energetic in its effect - not a "medicine" or a drug.

Of course, it he develops more alarming symptoms today he should go the emergency vet this weekend.

Take it to the vet, ASAP. Depending on whether its an indoor, indoor/outdoor, or strictly outdoor cat, and whether he has had all of his shots, there are a variety of different disease or illnesses that he could have come across.

I would suggest that you take the cat in for a heart test... It just sounds as if it could have an enlarged heart

cardiac issues it sounds like...Heart disease, murmur or anything with the heart can create breathing issues. Get him to a vet soon to determine and/or rule out heart disease.
