I would think that a rather conservative Luthern church might suit you well. As you probably already know, Catholicism was the first (and only) Christian denomination until Martin Luther decided he didn't like certain tenents of it and broke away.
Of course, if you're not very religious (and it frankly doesn't sound like you are) then the best middle ground for the two of you may be no religion at all. Or perhaps spend alternate Christmas's and Easters in each church.

Lutherans and Catholics only differ on 13 points from how I understand it. They are actually about as close as a protestant and non-protestant church could be.
If you went for any of the protestant churches you would be further away from being a Catholic than if you were Lutheren. It probably wouldn't be much of change for her.
You might look into one of the Orthodox churches.

Actually I would try to figure out which of you spends the most time and dedication on your faith. And pick the faith of the person who is more dedicated.
Some families go to more than one church, they go to one Church Sunday Morning, and at other times they pick a different one to go to.
BTW next time you ask a question like this you might want to ask everyone to explain their answer because it is clear that many people who answer these questions are not trying to help they are just wanting to advertise there own faith.

my parents are the same way. my dad is Lutheran and my mom is Catholic. She doesn't go to church often. Especially since she had to take care of my paralized brother. Even though he past away she doesn't go often. Either choose one or switch off. They're both Christiananity so both are providing the right concept but different teachings.

This is a very perosnal thing, so naturally people would want you to convert to their religion. So it's better if u do ur research in potential religions and pick the one you think is best.

You don't just pick a religion because it's a good middle ground for marriage, you pick a religion because it's what feels right for you.

You are already the same religion. You are both Christians.
Why would either of you need to change denomination, anyway? There's no reason you can't remain what you already are, both of you.
