Don't worry if people don't believe you about being born on a military base, if they really wanted to be your friend, they wouldn't accuse you of making a false birth certificate. My advice would be to leave the matter alone, they will eventually forget the whole thing ever happened.

Stop telling them you were born in the military! You were born in Springfield, Ill.

Is it that important to get upset about?

I am a descendant of the 5th President of the United States.
Do I tell people that? NO!!

They do not believe you anyways.
Since I have no documentation, as you have found, even WITH documentation, they still wont believe you so don't worry about it.

I am sure I can track down documentation but it's not worth my time! You are here! It does not matter where you were born. If they are really your friends they shouldn't care whether you were born on the moon or in Siberia.

you were not 'born in the military" you born born at a military hopsital. I was born at the Naval Academy's hospital( back when there was one), but I wasn't born in the Navy.

In point of fact, that isn't a birth certificate, it is a record of birth. Mine has a cute wittle pink ribbon affixed behind the seal, but it is not a legal BC. That had to be issued from Anne Arundal County.

Besides, who cares what other people think?

I am not sure what you mean, "born in the military"? Were you born in a hospital on a military base, because I do not know of a military hospital in Springfield, Illinois.

As for your friends, do not worry about them. Kids think things that are different than their norm are not true. As long as you were born, that is all that matters.

So your a military brat...so what. You don't say what year you were born so we have no idea if you were born at a military hospital or a local county hospital, but you were not born in the military either which way. I have a son who was born at the Blytheville AFB hospital in Arkansas and another son who was born at the Fort Sam Houston hospital in Texas, but they are military brats of mine because I was in the military... not them.

My husbands friends brought papers to our wedding to be issued a wife and he had to sign it for the general. I am the first issued wife in the Army. They will never let us live that down. It was a joke of course but we have the paper work copy with the generals signature on it to prove it to people.

Stop worrying about it, if they want proof, go back to the original records and see what is there.

Who cares if they believe you, at least you and your parents know... people can be so ignorant sometimes.
