'm on 600mg of Seroquel per day. i've been taking this medication for many months and i'm aware of the short and semi-long term affects. but what happens in long term? like not 5 or 10 months. i mean years. i'll be taking this medication for the rest of my time here unless something beter comes along, so i'd like to know XP. also.. i'm on 20mg of Lexapro a day. it was 10mg for 4 weeks then 20mg after that. and its been many months just like the Seroquel. i was wondering if someone could suggest a different medication. an anti-depressent that preferably dosen't have a high chance of suicidal thought side affects, but one that actually works XP.... like really works... Lexapro dosen't help at all... i told the doctor guy that and he bumped me up to 20mg. but its still not working.

someone said something about not askign about this here in a previous question ;p. that i should only be asking my doctor and whatnot. i can't get to my doctor. or my shrink ;p. for now anyway. and not for at least a month or so.. i'm just asking for suggestions. the doctor certainly dosen't know everything. and he's not gonna magicly prescribe me the best medication for my 'issues'. i'm asking for advice. i need info so i can have a better chance of getting meds that work. so if you have infromation on an anti-depressent thats worked for you or whoever and you don't mind talking about it, i'd really like to know about it. my sn is fuzzy_husky if you wanna im me or whatever.. and no more 'this isn't the place for that' stuff please x.x. this is the place for that. so rawr..

There is not enough data collected to know long term effects on people and many of these psychiatric medications. Please remember the actual science of psychology is rather young relatively speaking, about 125 yrs. Psych meds are also relatively new...the meds like seroquel havent been around for 20 years, so no data has been collected...I hate to say this my friend, but we are the guinea pigs!

I've been taking Seroquel for about 8 years, and I haven't had any side-effects except for fatigue. You may want to talk to your psychiatrist to add another antidepressant along with the Lexapro. My doc adds Wellbutrin or Effexor to my cocktail, which includes Lexapro. This gets me through the dark days of winter and alleviates the depression. I also use a full-spectrum light bulb in the lamp next to my bed without the lampshade. It's on a timer and comes on at 530AM. It mimics sunlight, which will also lighten your mood.

I took it in May '06 - June '06. It made me feel worse, suicidal, depressed, excessive muscle tone, Hypertension like side effects and when i was all done weight gain. I started out with 25MG before bed and got up to different doses throughout the day about 250 MG. My shrink, he's a jerk and does not listen to me or even care so it was stopped and no more appointments by me and a family member. Ask about a different medication, please if you want come to psych Central to get help with that type stuff, your symptoms and medications. Also please feel free to contact me if you want. I took it for some sort of Schizophrenia/Psychosis thing according to my doctors, but I do not know why you are taking it. Each case is different. i know I really want to try Geodon soon! Maybe you should try some Zoloft?

I take Seroquel at night to help me sleep I have not had any adverse affects from taking it at all. I have been taking it over a year now. If you are concerned ask your doctor these questions.
