Your pink trout is quite probably rainbow trout that has been farmed and fed food that has colourants added. Wild trout have white flesh. Just to whet your appetite I had rainbow trout for tea tonight after I put in in the smoker for 30 minutes ate it with fresh bread and thought it was delicious. Why don't you try some.

Pink trout is a rainbow or brown trout that's been farmed, and fed colourants in the diet that dye its flesh pink. That's also true of most salmon too.

Native trout that lived their whole life in the stream instead of being pellet fed farm raised, have a color more like ther cousin, the salmon. They are pink and have more flavor.
